Dr. R. E. Landreneau sent a letter published in The Eunice News protesting the lack of rice in school lunch menus. “Rice prices have a hit a new low while the cost of production and equipment have hit new highs in the past two years,” he wrote. He added that rice is served as “some gooey, gluey mess” at the state’s unversities. “... not even a dedicated Louisiana rice booster could possible eat” the rice served at the universities, he stated.
Members of a bookkeeping class at Eunice Junior High School were shown in a photo. They were Trudy Francois, Kathy Arabie, Betty Fontenot, Eugenia Ardoin, Bonnie Bertrand, June Bradley, Janie Courville, Charles C. Dugas and Bruce Johnson. The instructor was Yvonne Perrodin. The class was part of the Community Education Program.
Charles Feucht of Eunice was to receive a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy at Northeast Louisiana State University on Dec. 11.
The kindergarten class taught by Susan Mire toured the Eunice Public Library. The students were Kelly Harris, Jamie Feucht, Glenn Fruge, Kyle Andrus, Shane Brown, Ryan Fuselier, John Michael Moreau, Adrienne LeDoux, Tiffani Powell, Jules Devillier, Ingrid Boone, Jeffery Hebert, Christie Lintzen, Rachelle Aguillard, Todd Atchinson, Susan Smith, Dawn Andrus, Natalie Sanders, Chad Coleman, Gretchen Francois and Katherine Bieber.
