Salam Ilham Al-Saadi of Damascus, Syria and Naaser Aldeen Sawaf, originally of Kuwait, of Lafayette, exchanged wedding vows on Feb. 4 at 7 p.m.

The ceremony was held at the Hyatt Regency in Dearborn, Mich.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mr. Waleed Al-Saadi of Damascus, Syria; and the groom is the son of Jamal and Alice Sawaf of Kuwait.

Maternal grandparents of the groom are Joseph Sanfilippo and the late Verbie Sanfilippo of Eunice.

A reception was held immediately following the ceremony at the Hyatt Regency.

Special guests attending traveled from Kuwait, Syria, Illinois and Mississippi.

A reception honoring the newlyweds was held on Feb. 7 at Nick’s on 2nd Street in Eunice where family and friends were introduced to the bride and her parents.

The couple have made their home in Lafayette where the groom is presently attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
