Teacher, DOE supervisor

BATON ROUGE – Services will be Saturday for teacher and Dept. of Education supervisor Kay Francis. She died May 7 at age 74.

She taught for 30 years at a number of schools and was a motivational speaker and life coach following her retirement.

Survivors include two sons.

Music minister, professor

VALDOSTA, Ga. – Services for former music minister and Valdosta State College Professor Emeritus of Music Dr. Lavar Robinson will be Friday. He died June 4 at age 93.

He was a U.S. Army Black Hawk Division veteran of World War II and former music minister at First Baptist Church, Ruston, La. and University Baptist, Baton Rouge, La. He joined VSU in 1960.

Survivors include his wife Janet.

Arrangements are by Carson McLane.
