Drs. Duos and Mazoch exchange vows during evening ceremony

St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice was the setting for the evening, candlelight, Nuptial Mass ceremony uniting Dr. Caroline Kay Duos and Dr. Mathew John Mazoch in Holy Matrimony.

The ceremony was held on Saturday, May 12 at 6:30 p.m. with Fr. Cedric Sonnier officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Clay M. Duos of Eunice; and the groom is the son of Dr. John Mazoch and Cheryl Hedlund of Bueche, LA.

Grandparents of the bride are Clarice Zaunbrecher Lejeune, the late Rodney W. Lejeune and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clabert Duos.

Grandparents of the groom are Dr. and Mrs Harold Hedlund, Mrs. Annie Mazoch and the late Ignatius John Mazoch.

Pianist for the ceremony was Connie Beaugh, accompanied by violinist Tommy Benoit and trumpeter Joe Stemplewski.

Church lectors were Annie Burton, and Dr. Allison Faugot.

Gift bearers were Dr. and Mrs. Ronald Menard, godparents of the bride.

Ushers were Will Burton of Iota, Price Phillips of Dallas, and Chandler Duos.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was stunning in an elegant off-the-shoulder, A-line satin dress in diamond white. The ruched empire bodice finished with a shirred cumberbund accented with pearl and beaded applique attached to a vertical bow on bodice side.

The back of the gown was adorned with appliques and satin covered buttons from the top to the hem of the chapel-length train.

The bride’s veil was a fingertip-length veil trimmed in diamond white satin ribbon.

She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white calla lilies, white roses, phalaenopsis orchids, soft peach roses-varigated pittosporum, yellow wax flowers, and peach hypericum berries. A rosary and antique handkerchief borrowed from her maternal grandmother was tied into bouquet.

Serving as maid of honor was Claire Duos of Lafayette, sister of the bride.

Bridal attendants were Natalie Duos of Eunice, sister of the bride; Stephanie Menard of Houston, and Ashley M. Fontenot of Baton Rouge.

The attendants wore truffle strapless knee-length taffeta dresses. The waist and bodice were adorned with self-fabric flowers and beading. Their bouquets were yellow alstroemeria lillies, peach roses, yellow wax flowers, varigated pittosporum, and peach hypericum berries.

Serving as flower girl was Abby Nichole Lejeune of Hammond, daughter of Tim and Marilyn Lejeune.

Serving as ring bearer was Bexley James Wilkinson of Shreveport, son of Bo and Maureen Wilkinson.

Serving as best man was Bart Hannaman of Houston, friend of the groom.

Groomsmen were Josh Pfingst of Dallas, Hal Newman of Mandeville, and Jonathan Whitley of Dallas.

A reception was held at the Point-Aux-Loups Springs Ballroom in Iota.

The couple took a honeymoon trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico.

The couple has made their home in Little Rock, Ark.
