MAMOU - The Mamou Police Department reported they made six arrests recently.

The following persons were charged:

•Ashley Leday, 17, 608 Ninth St., Mamou, was charged July 2, with aggravated battery (two counts). Leday was transferred to the Evangeline Parish Jail.

•Brandon Christopher Aymond, 24, 341 Mount Carmel Road, Ville Platte, was charged July 4, with a suspended affidavit. Aymond bonded out of jail.

•Lee Ethel Leday, 43, 616 Rozas St., Ville Platte, was charged July 5, with simple battery. Leday bonded out of jail.

•Joey Fontenot, 20, 800 Second St., Mamou, was charged July 6, with simple escape and simple criminal damage to property. Fontenot was transferred to the Evangeline Parish Jail.

•Joseph Oliver, 50, 1116 Wade Road, Cheneyville, was charged July 8, with a suspended driver’s license. Oliver remained in jail at press time.

•Johnny M. Buyton, 48, 712 Main St., Mamou, was charged July 8, with second degree battery. Buyton was transferred to the Evangeline Parish Jail.
