The ceremony was held on Saturday, October 1 at 7:30 p.m. with Fr. Bryce Sibley officiating. Co-Celebrants were Fr. Conley Bertrand, Fr. Jim Brady, Fr. Keenan Brown, Fr. Kevin Bordelon and Fr. Nathan Comeaux.
The bride is the daughter of Mark and Sandra Prather of Eunice and the groom is the son of Dr. Edwin L., III and Mrs. Patricia Bercier.
Grandparents of the bride are Mrs. Dornetta Duplechain, formerly of Eunice, the late Mr. Shirley Marcantel of Mamou, Mr. Shelby Prather of Eunice, and the late Mrs. Oneida Prather of Eunice.
Grandparents of the groom are Mrs. Gladys Newman and the late Mr. Ganer Newman, Jr. of Rayne, the late Mr. Edwin L. Bercier, Jr. and Mrs. Clarice Bercier of Rayne.
Scriptural readers during the ceremony were Delana Hall, godmother of the bride, and Annette Gossen, godmother of the groom.
Musical selections were provided by Connie Beaugh, Joseph Stemplewski, and Anne Clare and Bridget Bercier.
Gifts were offered by Caroline Stearns and Evelyn Bercier.
Ushers were Justin Stewart, Anthony Hebert and Nick Rasmussen, all friends of the groom.
The bride, given away by her father, was stunning in an ivory gown over light gold. The intricate lace gown featured a high mandarin keyhole back. The gown featured a fishtail train accented with scalloped edging. Delicate Swarovski crystals sprinkled throughout the gown with rich decorative beading at the empire waist.
The bride’s headpiece was a headband consisting of beading and freshwater pearls. The single-layered veil mimicked the details of the dress featuring delicate beading and scalloped edging.
The bride carried a hand-held bouquet of mixed yellow, orange and deep red mini calla lilies.
Serving as matron of honor was Lauren LeBlanc, sister of the bride.
Bridal attendants included Lenore Bercier, sister-in-law of the groom, Suzanne Bercier, Christie Stearns, Mary Mayeux, Tess Bercier and Catherine Landry, all sisters of the groom.
The attendants wore wine floor-length, one-shoulder gowns. The dresses were accented with an ethereal feel, with chiffon overlay and a scrap of chiffon fabric draped over one shoulder, falling half the length of the dress.
They carried bouquets of three large white calla lilies.
Serving as flower girl was Lily Stearns, niece of the groom. She wore a white dress accented with a white sash and ballet slippers. She carried a ball of small deep red flowers.
Serving as ring bearers were Leo Bercier and Nathan Mayeux, nephews of the groom. They wore charcoal suits.
Serving as best man was John Paul Bercier, brother of the groom.
Groomsmen included Dr. Eddie Bercier, brother of the groom, Jared Prather, brother of the bride, Dr. Zeb Stearns, brother-in-law of the groom, Peter Mayeux, brother-in-law of the groom, Ryan LeBlanc, brother-in-law of the bride, and Dr. David Landry, brother-in-law of the groom.
A reception was held at The Warehouse in Rayne.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to Cancun, Mexico.
The bride is a graduate of Louisiana State University and LSU Health Sciences Center. She is currently employed as a physical therapist at Select Physical Therapy in Crowley.
The groom is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and LSU Health Sciences Center and is employed at Bercier Family Dentistry.
The couple have made their home in Rayne.
