A Eunice area man is wanted by authorities for three counts attempted second degree murder and other associated charges after allegedly shooting a woman in the leg late Sunday night.

According to the St. Landry Sheriff’s Office, Jhavoca Lee Charlot, last known address 113 Arkansas Lane, allegedly fired a handgun at a 2012 Chrysler on Frugé Street occupied by three women.

One woman was struck in the leg by a bullet, according to the sheriff’s office, and taken to Acadian Medical Center for treatment.

Eunice Police radio logs indicate the shooter was the boyfriend of the victim.

The names of the victims and other passengers are not being released at this time, according to the St. Landry Sheriff’s Office.

Because the shooting occurred outside the Eunice city limits, the sheriff’s office is handling the investigation.

Arrest warrants were issued for Charlot on three counts attempted second degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property and illegal use of weapons.

Charlot has not yet been apprehended, and the sheriff’s office said the investigation is currently ongoing.

Anyone with information on Charlot’s whereabouts is urged to call 948-8477. St. Landry Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward for a valid tip leading to Charlot’s arrest.
