LAFAYETTE – The St. Edmund Blue Jays finished as Region II runners-up Tuesday at the University of Louisiana track complex.

The Blue Jays scored 88 points to finish behind Vermilion Catholic (104).

The Lady Jays finished third with 68.5 points, behind Westminster (107) and Hamilton Christian (99).

St. Edmund had four boy athletes qualify for the state meed in 10 events.

Cole Hebert won both the 1600-meter run (4:50.37) and the 3200 meter run (10:56.24).

He finished third in the 800 meters (2:10.52).

David Scott LaFleur finished third in the javelin (160-1), second in the 100 meters (10.95) and second in the 200 meters (23.11)

Adam Clause won the 200 meters (22.71) and finished third in the 100 meters (11.15).

Brent Swann won the 300-meter hurdles (41.82) and finished third in the long jump (20-8.50)

The Lady Jays had five performers qualify in seven events.

Brooke Fontenot finished second in the long jump (17-2.50) and second in the triple jump (33-10.50)

Catherine Bowie finished second in the pole vault (8-6).

Alana Guillory finished third in the discus (84-4).

Margaret Vidrine finished third in the javelin with a toss of 107-3.

Brianna Ramirez finished third in the 1600 meters (6:01.74) and second in the 3200 meters (13:11.70).
