St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz announced today that his office will offer old- fashion shoe shine services to St. Landry Parish.
The services will be housed at the main Public Safety Complex, 1592 East Prudhomme, Opelousas, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The fees are $3 for boots and $2 for shoes and uses inmate labor.
Guidroz added, “This program stands by my commitment not to just house inmates but to help in their rehabilitation. A man or woman given the opportunity to work, whatever the task maybe, adds to their self esteem and pride.”
The office uses inmate labor in litter abatement, mechanic services, work release to local businesses, and meal preparation for the inmates.
