HENDERSON LEVEE - A motorcycle rider was killed Sunday morning when her bike collided with a pickup on the levee road just past Cypress Cove.

State Polilce said a truck driven by Henry Patin, 49, of Breaux Bridge was traveling north on LA 352 (Levee Road) negotiating a left curve and a motorcycle driven by Ciera Lafleur, 20, of Breaux Bridge was traveling south on La 352 attempting to negotiate the same curve.

For unknown reasons the motorcycle traveled across the center line and entered the path of the truck.

The motorcycle struck the front end of the truck head-on, ejecting Lafleur. Both vehicles came to rest on the southbound shoulder of LA 352.

LaFleur was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Patin was charged with failure to wear a seat belt.
