MAMOU - The Basile Bearcats cruised to a 33-0 opening season win over the Mamou Green Demons Friday night.

Dylan Matte scored the first two touchdowns for the Bearcats on runs of 27-and 3-yards.

Kevin Hardy scored on a 15 yard run in the second period, while Kaleb Bergeaux scored on a 22-yard pass from Trenton Pelloquin as Basile led 27-0 at intermission.

The Bearcats added a fourth-quarter score on a 3-yard run from Clint Sias for a 33-0 advantage.

Basile rolle dup 328 yards of total offense, including 230 yards on the ground.

Mamou was limited to 86 yards of total offense against the Bearcat defense.

Matte led the way on the ground with 119 yards, while Hardy added 68 yards on 13 carries.

Pelloquin completed 4-of-8 passes for 98 yards.

Dillion Holland gained 40 yards on 14 carries for the Green Demons.

Basile (1-0) entertains Sacred Heart of Ville Platte on Friday, while Mamou (0-1) visits Opelousas Catholic on Thursday.
