Lady Bengals kick off National Championship tournament with a pair of wins

CLINTON, Miss. - The Louisiana State University Eunice Lady Bengals remained in the winner's bracket with a 6-0 win over No. 9 Muskegon in the second round of the NJCAA Division II softball World Series.

Kaylee Guidry earned the two-hit, complete game win as she struck out 10 and allowed no walks.

In Thursday's opener, LSUE recorded an eight-run shutout win against East Central College of Missouri in a five-inning mercy rule game.

Pitcher Tina Schultz earned the win, giving up only one hit and no runs with nine strikeouts in five innings of work.

LSUE will continue in the winner's bracket with a noon game on Friday.
