An early morning drug raid by the Eunice Police Department and St. Landry Sheriff’s Department led to the arrest of 18 alleged drug dealers.

“Operation: Independence Day!” took place in the early hours July 3, as officers arrived at the homes of alleged dealers to serve arrest warrants.

All of the warrants stemmed from narcotics investigations by the Eunice PD Narcotics Division, police said, and all of the cases involved drug purchases by undercover operatives and were captured on video and audio devices as evidence, police said.

THIS IS DISCRIMINATION!!! Poor and mostly black folks are repeatedly subjected to the heavy hand of the law.

EuniceToday.com is complicit in this disgrace by shamelessly publishing photos of people who have NOT been convicted of anything. When all or any of these people are vendicated, will EuniceToday.com publish an apology for slandering their names and distributing their photos?

This story is bullsquat, a fluff piece for the beloved drug-raiders. If narc cops want to win the hearts and minds of the community, they must refocus their clandestine operations on politicians and the people who illegally funnel money to them, those are REAL criminals!

@Brad...if i'm not mistaken just a few weeks ago there was a drug bust with all white people involved. So why play "the race" card....if your breaking the law it doesnt matter what color you are...also, the article does say "alleged" drug dealers. it doesnt say that they are guilty.

Sounds to me like the individual claiming Discrimination is probably one of the suspects, or was inadvertently missed in the drug raids and is pretty nervous!

I agree.... I think the "narc's" should give the "poor and mostly black folks" a break in their next drug bust. I think the police should be guilty of discrimination and over look the poor and mostly black folks in their next drug bust, and concentrate just on well to do white folks!

It doesn't matter what your race is. If you get caught you need to face up to it. Get a job not one dealing drugs. I hope they serve time.
