Seven people have been arrested and charged in relation to a June fight that sent one man to the hospital with disfiguring injuries and loss of sight in one eye.

According to Eunice Police, on June 13 at 9:57 p.m., police responded to a report of a large fight in progress in the 800 block of North 2nd Street.

Police could not say how the fight started or what the fight was about.

When officers arrived, some of the suspects were still on the scene, but others had already left, police said.

Several people were injured and transported to the hospital for treatment, police said.

One of the suspects, Javon Pemberton, was jumped by several individuals and received disfiguring injuries to his face, as well as the loss of sight in one eye, and had to spend several days in the hospital, according to police.

Another suspect, Bailey Johnson, received severe head injuries and was transported to the hospital, according to police.

Another one of the suspects, Jimmy Mosbroker, III, is alleged to have used steel-toed boots to kick the one of the other men while he was down on the ground, police said.

Pemberton is black; the other suspects are white.

One of the suspects, Matthew Ware, was arrested earlier this month and charged in connection with a stolen generator; he is currently incarcerated. His mother Sandra Ware was also arrested and charged in connection with the fight. She was allegedly armed with a metal pipe or rod, as was Pemberton.

Those arrested are:

Mosbroker, 17, 650 College Rd.; aggravated second degree battery, disturbing the peace.

Pemberton, 35, 330 Mathilda St.; aggravated second degree battery.

Shawn Lafleur, 17, Faquetigue Rd.; second degree battery.
