The ceremony was held on Saturday, June 16 with Fr. Ted Broussard officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Wayne and Rosie Thevis of Iota; the groom is the son of T.C. and Arlene Chachere of Eunice.
Church lectors were Carolyn Dyer, godmother of the groom; and Joy LaCombe, godmother of the bride. Gift bearers were Gary Fontenot, godfather of the groom; and Kelly Thevis, godfather of the bride.
Altar server was John Hansen Fruge.
Ushers included Wesley Chachere of Eunice, Ben Thevis and Derek Chachere, both of Iota.
The bride, given away by her father, was radiant in a diamond white strapless gown adorned with a delicate-ribboned lace at the bodice which fell softly into the A-line skirting.
The gown featured ruched taffeta shirred across the waistline which finished into an embellished rhinestone applique.
The bride carried a hand-held bouquet of white hydrangeas, and white mini calla lilies wrapped into a white satin ribbon. Entertwined in her bouquet was a rosary borrowed from her mother and a handkerchief as something old from her grandmother.
Serving as maid of honor was Leah Pousson, friend of the bride.
Bridal attendants included Carlie Thevis, sister of the bride; Blanche Hensgens, cousin of the bride; Alyson Chachere, sister of the groom; Lauren Stephens, friend of the bride; and Blair Corzine, cousin of the groom. Junior bridesmaid was Morgan Oliver, cousin of the groom.
Serving as flower girl was Madeline Oliver of Rayne, daughter of Cynthia and Chet Oliver.
Ring bearer was Mason Doucet, son of Amber and Beau Doucet of Evangeline.
Serving as best man was Ryan Henderson of Eunice, friend of the groom.
Groomsmen were Hans Zaunbrecher, Jon-Erik Eval, Jerome Perron, Dustin Douget, and Slade Scherer, all friends of the groom. Junior groomsman was William Chachere, brother of the groom.
A reception was held at St. Thomas More Social Hall in Eunice.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to the Bahamas and have made their home in Eunice.
The bride is a graduate of McNeese State University and is currently employed at G&H Seed & Outdoor Company.
The groom is a graduate of McNeese State University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health & Human Performance, and received his Master’s of Science degree in Educational Leadership. He is currently employed with the Acadia Parish School Board.
