Library's "Dream Big Read!" Summer Reading Program concludes

The Eunice Public Library’s summer reading program “Dream Big Read!” concluded Wednesday with an awards program held at the Prairie Acadian Center in Eunice.

Children, teens and adults alike participated in the summer reading program.

Certificates of participation, grand prize drawings, door prizes and refreshments were all on the awards program.

The “Dream Big Read!” summer reading program included kids up to sixth-grade with requirements to read at least six books. Their names were placed in a grand prize drawing for a bicycle donated by Walmart.

The teen summer reading program included teens grades seventh- through twelfth to read at least six books at their reading level. These participants received a certificate and were eligible for a drawing of grand prize of a Kindle E-book reader with case.

The adult summer reading program involved adults 18 years and up who completed a reading requirement of four books. These participants were eligible to win in a drawing of a one-night stay at LeVillage Guesthouse as first prize and a quilted comforter as second prize.

All three “first” readers received a Summer Reading Program tote bag containing a Summer Reading Program T-shirt, water bottle, and various other goodies.

The grand prize winner in the adult reading program was Stephanie Guillory receiving a one-night, two guests, free stay at the LeVillage, and second-place winner was Michael Arnold who received a quilt comforter.

The teen grand prize winner was Victoria Ozak who received a Kindle e-book reader with case.

The youth program grand prize winner was Alex Thibodeaux who will receive a bicycle of his choice donated by Eunice Walmart.
