The ceremony was held on Friday, April 23 at 7 p.m. with Father Cedric Sonnier officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Barry and Sherry Smith of Eunice, and the groom is the son of David and Donna Meche of Leonville.
Vocalists during the ceremony were Sarah Pulling and David Harper accompanied by Connie Beaugh, pianist, and trumpeter David Cormier.
Scripture readers were Paula Prudhomme, aunt and godmother of the bride; Dawn Lanclos and Monica Billeaudeau, cousins of the groom.
Gift bearers were the mothers of the bride and groom.
Altar servers included Bethany and Jacob Soileau, cousins of the groom.
Program attendants were Megan Mitchell, cousin of the bride; and Bailey Lanclos, cousin of the groom.
Ushering wedding guests to their appointed seats were Logan Leger, cousin of the bride; and Scott Zeringue, friend of the groom.
The church door handles held pomanders of red roses. The church pews were marked with pomanders of love lilies, red roses and berries, held by an ivory double satin loop.
The bride, given away by her father, was radiant in a diamond white Alfred Angelo Sapphire semi-cathedral gown. The strapeless sweetheart neckline bodice was detailed with embroidered metallic accents and crystal beading. The dropped waist flowed into soft pin-tucks clustered with crystal beading and also featured metallic embroidery that edged the hemline.
Her headpiece was a single-layered elbow length veil edged with crystal and pearl beading accented with a crystal and pearl headband.
The bride carried a hand-held bouquet of three dozen red roses wrapped in ivory satin pearl edged ribbon. A rosary of pin-cut crystal beading, given to the bride by her maternal grandmother, was intertwined in the bouquet.
She wore an antique heirloom watch of diamonds and white gold, which belonged to her sister-in-law, used as her “Something Borrowed” and her “Something Old” was a scapula handed down by her maternal great-grandmother.
Serving as maid of honor was Laura Ward of Eunice, friend of the bride. Serving as matron of honor was Kristina Smith of Eunice, sister-in-law of the bride.
Bridal attendants included Casey Fontenot, friend of the bride, Ferren Broussard, cousin of the bride, both of Eunice; Miranda Lear of Baton Rouge, friend of the bride, Jennifer Ketteringham, of Hattisburg, Miss., friend of the bride, Jamie Soileau of Grand Prairie, friend of the bride; and Jessica Bell of Broussard, cousin of the bride.
Junior bridesmaid was Lindsey Billeaudeau of Leonville, cousin of the groom.
The attendants wore Bill Levkhoff strapless satin European black dresses accented with an ivory sash. The fitted bodice was complimented by a skirting that featured a pin-tucked pattern with an ivory floor length sash that flowed with the slight train.
They carried a bouquet of hydrangeas, red roses, love lilies and hypericum berries wrapped in double satin black ribbon with a rhinestone broach attached, a gift from the bride.
Serving as flower girl was Brynlie Louque, cousin of the groom, daughter of Heidi Guidry and Chuckie Louque of Arnaudville. She wore an ivory ankle length dress with a full puckered organza skirt with rhinestone accents. The sleeveless bodice was accented with a black satin waistband and bow. She carried a grapevine cone of hydrangeas, berries, and red spray roses.
The mother of the bride wore a night blue taffeta floor-length gown with a scalloped V-neckline accented with a shirred beaded lace bodice and dropped waist.
The mother of the groom wore a champagne satin floor length gown with an asymmetrical tiered skirt. The mothers carried a cluster of red roses and hypericum berries tucked in a silver mussie-tussie.
Serving as ring bearer was Matthew Prudhomme, cousin of the bride, son of Joey and Christina Prudhomme of Port Barre.
His attire matched that of the grooms. He carried an ivory satin pillow accented with a crystal broach and black satin ribbon.
Serving as junior groomsman was Seth Meche of Leonville, brother of the groom.
Serving as best man was Brent Domec of Arnaudville, friend of the groom.
Groomsmen included Brett Smith of Eunice, brother of the bride, Will Chachere of Opelousas, friend of the groom, Travis Soileau of Grand Prairie, cousin of the groom, Josh Guidry of Arnaudville, cousin of the groom, Marcus Meche and Mikey Meche of Leonville, cousins of the groom, and Ben McGee of Broussard, cousin of the bride.
The groom wore a Raffinati single-breasted black tuxedo with a Perry Ellis matching black shirt and black tie.
The groomsmen and ushers wore Raffinati single-breasted black tuxedos with Perry Ellis matching, black shirts and ivory ties.
Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held at St. Thomas More Social Hall.
The couple took a seven-day honeymoon trip to St. Lucia Sandals Resort.
The bride is a graduate of Eunice High School, Louisiana State University Eunice and Our Lady of the Lake College in Baton Rouge where she earned a degree as a Registered Nurse. She is currently employed with Opelousas General Health System.
The groom is a graduate of Beau Chene High School and University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science. He is employed with H.Brown of Eunice.
The couple have made their home in Eunice.
