Jays’ QB Arnaud named top player

St. Edmund quarterback Hunter Arnaud completed 14-of-18 passes for 161 yards and a 10-yard touchdown pass to Andre Aguillard in the Blue Jays’ 26-0 win over Iota. Arnaud also gained 43 yards on seven carries in the win.

For his efforts, Arnaud was named the Eunice News Player of the Week.

St. Edmund’s Kevin McFarlain intercepted a pass in the first quarter and scored on a fumble recovery at the end of the second quarter in a strong defensive performance in the Blue Jays’ shutout win.

Eunice quarterback Trenon Trosclair completed 7-of-10 passes for 95 yards and gained 77 yards on six carries including a 15-yard touchdown in the Bobcats’ 42-21 loss to Jennings.

Basile quarterback Matt Pruitt was a perfect 7-for-7 for 160 yards and two touchdowns in the Bearcats’ 48-13 win over Pine Prairie. Pruitt also gained 50 yards on four carries.

Basile running back Jake Fournerat gained 139 yards on 12 carries including a 65-yard touchdown run.

Church Point’s Von Duplechain finished with 118 yards on 12 carries with touchdown runs of three and two yards in the Bears’ 47-8 win over Avoyelles.

Zach Quibodeaux gained 100 yards on 15 carries including two touchdowns for the Bears.

Ty Leger completed 6-of-10 passes for 91 yards for Church Point.

Eunice running back Jonas Edwards gained 87 yards on 19 carries including touchdown runs of 1 and 6 yards in the Bobcats’ 42-21 loss to Jennings.
