Fees increased at Eunice meeting

Ordinances raising application and permit and inspection fees were approved at the Eunice Board of Aldermen’s meeting Tuesday.
The meeting was about 30 minutes long and included mostly housekeeping actions by the city Board.
The permits and inspections fees for air conditioning, heating, ventilation and mechanical refrigeration system work were doubled in some cases, but the fees range from increases of $5 to $10 to $40 to $50.
The application fees for city service such as electrical inspection to installation of permanent meters are being raised in most cases from $5 to $10.
A hearing was held before the meeting and no one appeared to comment about the changes.
The Board also approved changing 4.55 acres between Betty Street and Park Avenue from 13 lots to one lot.
A liquor license was approved for Kajeunes Food Mart 2, 241 W. Maple Ave.
Liquor license renewals were approved for 33 businesses.
Hearings were held for three properties: 301 Boudreaux St., 241 Julia St., and 410 Perrotti St.
Action on the Boudreaux property was ended because the structure has been secured.
A show cause hearing is scheduled in December for the Julia Street property.
The trailer at 410 Perrotti is slated for a show cause hearing in December.
Alderwoman Connie Thibodeaux read ordinances banning dumping refuse or rubbish on city streets and drainage. The ban includes yard clippings.
