Memorial Day ceremony set May 27
The VFW Post 8971, American Legion Post 129 and DAV Chapter 19, will have a Memorial Day ceremony at 6 p.m. May 27 at the Rotary Foundation corner at South 2nd and Park Avenue.
On Thursday, The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office was notified that Daylon Lewis Rainville and another occupant that was inside the vehicle were stopped in the early morning hours in Shreveport for a traffic stop.

Darrel LeJeune, editor of The Basile Weekly and a retired Basile High educator, released a book last week about the life story of his late parents.
Chief Petty Officer Jeremiah Miller, a native of Eunice, Louisiana, serves at the U.S. Navy Medical Readiness Training Command hospital in Yokosuka, Japan.
A team of nationally-recognized professionals will conduct a three-day planning exercise called a “Downtown Roadmap” for the City of Eunice.
